Today my project for my Game Design class was due on making a real world mechanic and applying it to Ringling campus. My group chose to focus on men and women opening the doors for people, and who opened doors more, men or women. In general, men open the door more for women so our goal, was to change behaviors and have women hold the door open for men (or other people in general). We first made posters that got a lot of negative reviews. On the second day I dressed up as a princess and Matt (a team member) dressed up as a knight and we held signs that tried to have more women or men (depending on the day and which sign) to hold the door open. On the day I dressed up, more women opened the door! I held a sign that said: "CHIVALRY, It goes both ways" as to encourage women to open the door. Overall, our attempt to change how people reacted to holding the door was effective, we did get a response however men still continue to hold open the door more than women. Here is some artwork that I worked on for the assignment that is a layout of what our presentation would be with the posters on the door.
