Game Design - Brainstorming the "Toy"

Before school, after we got an email from our teacher explaining the assignment before hand, I had started thinking vaguely of different ideas of mechanics and the world they lived in.

1.) Clockwork Elevators
           - This was the first idea I thought of when I first read the assignment. I imagined a world that looked like Skyrim's dwarven mines combined with Zelda - Twilight Princess Faron Woods. A world that is still running after a long time that is slowly being engulfed by the forest. I liked the idea of using elevators to get to "something". Now this is more of a game, but I remember making a moving platform last year and rather loved spending time just seeing if i could cross the platforms to get to the end. It was basic, and yet still very fun.

2.) Seesaw Bounce
          - My second idea I thought about was the idea of making a seesaw that you jump on to get items that are floating vertically. The goal is to use the seesaw to gain points. This is mainly based off the the hassee bounce game I used to play in high school. It doesn't need to be a see saw, it could be a trampoline or swing, just the idea of using a 'toy' to get points. This, again is a vague idea but uses something simple, to make a game.

3.) Umbrella Bumper Cars
             - This was an idea that kind of just randomly popped into my head. It was raining outside and at the time I wished I had an umbrella and then my mind suddenly jumped to the idea of, what if there was a game that we raced on umbrellas through water? And, the more people or umbrellas we hit the better we score? This was another vague idea but thought that it would be cool. to try and execute.

4.) Umbrella Platforming
          - Using the same idea as previously specified, maybe instead of umbrellas as bumper cars, as platforms that allowed you to cross the sea to the island of survival. Some of the umbrellas however are bad that will make you fall into water and lose points.

5.) Desert Survival
         - I have no idea how I would execute this but I would love to have a game that was again, you have to reach the ending (which was a house or hospital or something) but it's a game that you have to cross the American border from Mexico and survive. You only have a few items like 2 water bottles and like a loaf of bread or something, and you need to use your items wisely or else you won't survive. Just a concept idea that I thought would be fun to try.

6.) The Mexican/ American Border - The WALL
         - This again is leading off of the fifth idea, but you have this wall you must climb over to achieve your goal but there are obstacles while you climb such as barbed wire, police etc. This could be anywhere as well it doesn't have to be the Mexican/American border. But the idea of getting to the top of the wall and using the wall to your advantage.

7.) Crossing the Street
         - Using the car models we made previously in sophomore level, again another survival idea but this time using the cars to hit you that would cause you to instantly die and have to restart. The toy in this case would be the cars, except it is an evil toy, a toy you want to avoid!

8.) Stacking Game
          - You must move and stack an item such as a chair or a box to make a tower to reach the goal (or win the item or something). Using the toy in a creative way to reach the top. I am sure there is a game that is reminding me of this idea but I am having a hard time remembering it.

9.) Flotation Device - Race!
         - This idea came to me when I started running out of ideas of mechanics I was looking at my pool and noticing all the flotation devices that are running around and maybe you must pick your flotation device or 'toy' to try and win the race. I liked the idea and I personally thought it could be really cute and fun. I have no idea how to execute this though.

10.) Escaping Jail - The Key
        - I am noticing this is a recurring idea for me, which I am a bit concerned about because maybe physiologically today I am feeling the need to escape. However, I thought that this is an idea that could be fun and creative. You must use the key you have obtained through a guard on your prison cell, to escape with your friends. Some doors will open and others will not. I think this is a pretty fun idea and I do think I know how to go about executing this game correctly.

11.) Putting Back the Teddy Bear
         - This is kind of like mr. potato head, where in this game, you have to find all the parts to this teddy bear (or it could be any toy) to win. The items are hidden in different areas and you must find them and go back to the original room to put back together the teddy bear. If you don't come back with all the parts you fail.

12.) The Crane Game
           - The toy: the crane, your mission: to gather all the balls into the pool. From this box, you must use the crane to gather all the balls. Some are higher points than others. This is a pretty basic game that is used in candy machines and stuffed toy machines. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to try and create in the 3D world.

13.) Basic Game Mechanic: Special Items
             - Reverse Gravity (could be fun to play around with)
             - Floor switch activation

14.) Flying Plane To Hit the Target
            - I had an idea that you are flying in a plane going through hoops that have different numbers, and you try for the best points. Nothing too grand, I think I am just running out of ideas at this point.

15.) Pie Factory
          - You have to collect items that all you to put together a pie. If you get parts wrong, your points go down. It is just like in Mario Party where you have to use items like the strawberry and the cream and the pie in the correct order to make the cake. This is pretty over done but the mechanic would be cool to re-create.

16.) Wilt or Water
          - You have a watering can and you must water plants to get points. After a certain amount of time, they will start to wilt faster and faster. This is very similar to waitress games and things like that but I would love to have the opportunity to model plants. I know this is not the focus of the assignment but it would be a fun thing to do.

17.) Good or Bad?
           - The mechanic of infecting people to be good or bad. You pick a team and try and convert items or people to be good or bad.

18.) More Game Mechanics:
         - Guiding the balls into the correct slots using knobs or barriers. Button pressing to ensure the ball will go into right area. This is a simple idea that would be easy to construct.

19.) Beams of Light
          - Angling mirrors that then moves the light around that triggers something. Could be activating a door to the next area or it could be that the light shines on the prize in the room.

20.) Floor Puzzle
          - Step on the correct numbers or letters to get to the next room. You have to spell out a word or a number and if you get it wrong you fall into a dungeon or have to restart.
